Montreal, Quebec – The Montreal Impact beat the Toronto Lynx 4-0 yesterday at the Claude-Robillard Stadium. By doing so, Montreal now advances to the second round of the playoffs.

Darren Tilley, who started the season with Toronto before coming to Montreal in a July trade, was the big star of the game. Tilley became the first player in the Impact history to get a hat trick in one game.

Of course, It was nice to score three goals but what I like the most is to see that our team is very confident. Everything is working well and we now have to focus on our next opponents: the Long Island Rough Riders, said the Britisk striker after the game.

Tilley scored his first goal on a penalty kick in the 17th minute. Referee Johnny Jerome awarded the kick when Bill Sedgewick was pulled down by Elvis Thomas in the box. Tilley scored his two other goals in the 25th and 26th minutes.

Bill Sedgewick scored the fourth goal seconds before halftime when he deflected a shot by Bruno Xavier.

The series against the Rough Riders will start next Friday night (8:00 p.m.) at Hofstra Stadium in Long Island.
