MAURO BIELLO: Molson Ex player of July

Montreal, August 14, 1997 – The Montreal Impact today honored midfielder Mauro Biello, the Molson Ex player of the month for July. This award cumulates with the awarding of the team MVP at seasons end. The Molson Ex three stars are chosen every game day by sports journalists attending the Impact games.

“I am very happy to receive this award. Not only do I have the chance to play in my home town, but I am also privileged to be a member of a very talented team. I would like to share this honor with all my teammates. We complement each other really well and we all have a common goal: to win the Championship for our fans,” said Montreal native Mauro Biello.

In nine games, Biello scored three goals and tallied four assists for a total of 13 points in 780 minutes played. With his offensive contribution, he helped the Montreal Impact to have a succesful month of July with six wins and three losses in nine games.

Finally, Mauro Biello, Nick DeSantis, Cart Fletcher and Lyndon Hooper left Montreal this afternoon in direction of Toronto. They will be joining the Canadian National Team for an exhibition game against Iran on Sunday August 17th (3:00 pm) at Varsity Stadium.
